Uses your own credential — Verslay stores it encrypted

    Sign in to Canvas
    Open https://www.instructure.com/canvas and sign in to the account you want to connect.

    Create the API key
    Generate a new API key from the API or developer settings in your Canvas dashboard.

    Copy it immediately
    Canvas usually shows the full API key only once, right after you create it. Store it somewhere safe before closing the page.

    Connect in Verslay
    In the Verslay Hub, open Connections, find Canvas, and paste the API key into the Canvas Base URL, Acess token field.

    Verify
    The connection flips to Connected. Run any read-only action once to confirm the credential has the right scopes.

    Rotate safely
    When you rotate later: connect the new credential first, confirm it works, then revoke the old one.

Canvas Base URL

Your school's Canvas web address, e.g. https://myschool.instructure.com — copy it from your browser address bar. Include https:// and no trailing slash.

Your Canvas API access token. In Canvas, go to Account → Settings → Approved Integrations → + New Access Token, then copy it right away — Canvas shows it only once.

How do I connect Canvas to Verslay?

Open Connections in the Verslay Hub, find Canvas, and use the API key method. The steps are: Sign in to Canvas, Create the API key, Copy it immediately, Connect in Verslay, Verify, Rotate safely.

What do I need before I connect Canvas?

You need Canvas Base URL, Acess token from your Canvas account. Your school's Canvas web address, e.g. https://myschool.instructure.com — copy it from your browser address bar. Include https:// and no trailing slash.

Should I use the API key or OAuth for Canvas?

Both are listed on this page. OAuth opens Canvas's official sign-in and Verslay only gets the scopes you approve. The API key route uses your own credential, which Verslay stores encrypted. Connect a new credential first and confirm it works before you revoke an old one.
