- 2Create the API keyGenerate a new API key from the API or developer settings in your Confluence dashboard.
- 3Copy it immediatelyConfluence usually shows the full API key only once, right after you create it. Store it somewhere safe before closing the page.
- 4Connect in VerslayIn the Verslay Hub, open Connections, find Confluence, and paste the API key into the Your Subdomain field.
- 5VerifyThe connection flips to Connected. Run any read-only action once to confirm the credential has the right scopes.
- 6Rotate safelyWhen you rotate later: connect the new credential first, confirm it works, then revoke the old one.
What you’ll paste into Verslay
Your Confluence site name — the part before .atlassian.net in your browser's address bar. If your wiki is at acme.atlassian.net/wiki, enter 'acme'.
An Atlassian API token — works like a password with your email. Create one at id.atlassian.com/manage-profile/security/api-tokens and copy it then — it's shown only once.
The email address you sign in to Confluence with (your Atlassian account email), e.g. jane@acme.com — paired with your API token below to authenticate.

What do I need before I connect Confluence?

Should I use the API key or OAuth for Confluence?
Both are listed on this page. OAuth opens Confluence's official sign-in and Verslay only gets the scopes you approve. The API key route uses your own credential, which Verslay stores encrypted. Connect a new credential first and confirm it works before you revoke an old one.
